When I last posted I was completely excited about the signs of Spring I was beginning to see around my neighborhood. Then, it snowed...again. Now don't get me wrong, I do love the snow, but when I am geared up for Spring and dreaming about yard work, that's another story altogether. This lovely Robin was sitting in my tree two weeks ago.
Now we are all snuggled inside under blankets again (we live in an old farm house that is not well-insulated, but has a lot of charm and character) and looking out at falling snow.
I was actually sitting alongside the road looking at this picturesque scene which was complete with about four white-tail does foraging for food. I originally wanted to take their picture but they were about camera shy that afternoon and flashed their tails at me as they wandered farther back into the trees.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of our flag in the winter sunshine. I appreciated the contrast between the stark winter landscape and the bright colors on the flag. So, despite the signs of Spring I am still dreaming of digging in the dirt and getting our yard into shape. It's been rather sad to look at of late. I'm planning a new flower bed right out front beneath our Tulip Magnolia tree. It's been allowed to walk on the wild side just a little too long and needs some attention. I can't wait to throw on my sweet little apron full of tools and get outside into the garden!
I've come to the conclusion that time gets away from me entirely too quickly. When I started this blogging project, I wanted to post frequently and I realized today it has been over two weeks since my last post! Good grief, not my intention at all and I am committing to posting at least three times a week or more beginning today.
So look forward to much more news from Hip Petunia. I hope you're dreaming of Spring too!
